I would really encourage anyone who wants to increase their knowledge bank and loves to write.

July 1st – August 2nd (5 weeks)
How big was the office? Team strength?
The office was compact and nice. Not too huge but just about enough once you meet the people.
Team Strength: 3 partners: Mr Abhyudaya Agarwal, Mr Ramanuj Mukherjee and Ms Pallavi Pareek.
Application procedure. Internship contact details
You can apply online on the iPleaders website. A link to the application form is given HERE. You would also subsequently need to submit a Sample write-up on any topic and your CV to THIS email address.
One good thing is that they choose their intern solely on merit and whether they are capable enough to fulfil what is required of them. No bar on the year of study. Having a will to learn is enough.
Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings
Duration in weeks: 4-5 weeks. Days of work per week: 6 days (Saturdays – half days). Timings: 10am-6pm (subject to change in case of any emergency).
First impression. First day, formalities etc.
First impression: Dedicated and passionate people who are striving for change and to top it all pretty chilled out and cool as well.
First Day: Not a lot of work is there on the first day. Mainly what they want to know is what is your understanding of what they do and all of them are genuinely interested to know what you think.
Formalities: No formalities as such but they do expect you to submit a write-up on your understanding of what iPleaders is and that’s about it. From there on its a very friendly environment to work in.
As an intern your main task is to write blog-posts for their blog and various others forums. They give you diverse topics to write on ranging from Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace to Patent Trolls in the US. It is interesting work that requires in equal measure both research and creativity.
There is no set limit on the number of words you have to use or the number of pages you must complete it in. The only requirement is that it must be easy for a layman to comprehend.
There is also some clerical work to be done along with a little marketing of their online course on Entrepreneurship Administration and Business Laws affiliated to National University of Judical Sciences, Kolkata.
Work environment, people
The work environment is rather friendly and relaxed. This however does not mean that you take advantage and not do any work at all. If they give you work they want it to be done in time. If you stick to your end of the deal they would also have no problems with you.
Working with all 3 of them has actually been very enlightening for me. Being recent graduates themselves they understand how a college student’s mind works and are not grouchy, grumpy or restless around the office.
They also constantly ask you whether you are satisfied with the work and this just goes to prove that they care about what is it that you’re doing and whether it is to your liking. If they make changes with your post or feel that it lacks a little in some areas they would be sure to intimate it to you so that you may improve upon it in the future.
Also if you have any problems with any college activity like mooting for instance they always make themselves available to you for any help you want. They also encourage you to write papers and essays and just do all you are supposed to do in law school.
Would really encourage anyone who wants to increase their knowledge bank and loves to write.
Best things and Bad things.
The best things: The people, the work, the knowledge gained. All in all one of the most pleasant experiences of my life. Gave me a big confidence boost.
The bad things: Can’t think of any but not for one who is looking into litigation.
Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?
Apart from the J Block market and its excellent momos and cold coffee, Select Citywalk Mall is pretty close by and so is the PVR Anupam complex.
You could go to either to chill and stretch your legs for an hour during lunch. I have no clue about accommodation facilities around the area as am a resident of Delhi.
