First impression, first day formalities.
On the first day, it is generally a formal introduction, and then you land up with a brief of the pattern of work you’ll be doing in the upcoming weeks.
The Intern need to fill a form containing personal information.
On the first day itself the interns are allotted with their work.
Main tasks
The main tasks are research based and a bit of drafting.
You’ll be given different topics every week, or maybe everyday depending upon your speed of work.
The topics will be given to you according to the interest you’ll mention to them. You can even be asked to draft brief, bail, legal notices etc.
I assisted the associates in Drafting and researched on points of law.
The interns who are interested in the topic of “Human rights” will be allowed to prepare a draft for PILs.
My worked ranged from case law searches, to filing brief of the cases. All in all, you can be assigned to any work. Just take it in as a learning experience.
Work Environment.
The work environment is pretty great at VB Law associates.
The associates are really cool to work with. The Staff is very friendly and are always ready to help. They are approachable and act like buddies at the same time they are little stiff with the work allotted to the intern. You can easily ask any queries and they are always ready to Help.
Accommodation
Since my cousins live in Allahabad, I had no problem regarding the accommodations. Some rooms are available for rent in nearby location, one can look for that.
Best things
The best thing about the place was that there was variety of work to do.
