Application Process with contact details

This is my family’s law firm. I am interning here since June, 2014.

Duration of internship and timings

1st June, 2014 – Present

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The firm is a boutique law firm specializing in area of civil litigation, arbitration and real estate matters. I had the training from two highly experienced advocates.

The law library is equipped with books and case laws from 1970 onwards including an e-library from 1950 onwards.

On my first day, I was directly introduced into the drafting arena, with me given the task of taking dictation from my senior. This helped me immensely. I mean, I learned the tricks of the trade by participating in dictations.

Main tasks

I was introduced to preparing rough drafts of the cases and other documents. I started from the stage of drafting crude versions of basic agreements till preparing title reports for lands. Of course, all the work is supervised, guided and corrected by my seniors.

Work environment and people

The work environment is nurturing albeit a very strict hand.

Best things

Finally, I am very glad that I started learning the work since my colleges days, as it is very helpful to me now, being in final year and waiting for LLM admissions.

Bad things

Only bad things would be, I dived into work without properly balancing the college and work. Therefore, my attendance suffered as did my grades.

There was no stipend.

Biggest Lessons

I learned never to give up and never to take up the cases of wrong doers, that is the policy of the firm. No matter, how lucrative the offer is or how difficult the circumstance is, never take up the arms for protecting the unjust and lawless.

Any Other Thing

I urge all the law students, who are blessed with ample of time in their hands for 5 years or 3 years to plan their free time wisely and utilize it.

Overall Rating

Nope, it being my family law firm, I stayed at home.

Office Timings

The timings were very strict. I had be in office on all 7 days of the week, Saturdays and Sundays being the most busiest days of the week.
