Internship @ Teach For India, Pune: Teaching Art and Crafts | Preparation for MUNs

Duration of your Internship and Office Timings. 

I worked for TFI for about 4 weeks. Timings were 9 am to 1pm

First Impression, First Day Formalities, Infrastructure?

I was little nervous, since this was a new experience. I was asked joined the students for assembly and was asked to introduce myself, joined the students for classes and helped with Math and English classes.

Main Tasks of your Internship 

My main tasks were

1. Conducting art and craft classes every Saturday

2. Helping students with English

3. Helping students prepare for a MUN

Work environment and People 

The children are very sweet and make you feel comfortable, the work environment is just like one at school, the person I was interning under was Nausheen and she was quite helpful.

Best Things 

The children are the best part of the internship

Bad Things. 

At times there maybe a language barrier for those who cannot converse in Hindi or Marathi

Stipend 

None

Biggest Lessons! 

Teaching children takes patience and each child is individual and understands things in their own way.
