Internship @ Sr Adv Binod Poddar, Jharkhand High Court: Research Work | Court Visits {s}

Name of Organisation and Location: Sr. Adv. Binod Poddar, Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi, Jharkhand

Application Process: I sent them a mail regarding the internship enclosing my C.V. I received a response within 2-3 days.

Duration of internship and timings: I interned for 3 weeks.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure: On my first day I reached at 9:30 AM and had to wait for about an hour.

Then I got to meet Mr. Binod Poddar Sir with whom I got a chance to have a small interaction. He introduced me with one of his associates, Ms Amrita Sinha Ma’am.

There were no first day formalities as such. I only had to hand over my letter of recommendation given by the college. And almost every one greets you nicely.

The office is situated in the first floor of the Commerce Tower in Ranchi and is small but well equipped.

Main tasks: I was mostly assigned research work. We were asked to read various case files and prepare briefs for the same. I also got the chance to accompany Sir on one of his High Court visits.

I also learnt the basics of drafting.

Work environment and people: The work environment is not at all strict for interns. Everyone in the office was very friendly and helpful. There was very little burden of work.

Best things: There was no strictness regarding work or timings. You can go to the office, read, research and as your work gets over you can move back to home. The office is situated near the Main Road so there are many places near by to hang out like CCD , Subway etc.
