First impression, First day formalities, Infrastructure

Singhania & Partners is a leading corporate law firm of India which finds a good position in RSG rank list as well as Legal 500.

On the very first day of Internship, you are asked to fill up a form and sign rules and regulations along with which you are expected to carry two passport size photograph, class 10th & 12th Mark sheets and Passing Certificate.

In addition to this, don’t forget to bring the Bonafide Certificate and Identity Card issued by your respective College/University.

After completing the above formalities, each intern is allotted a mentor under which he/she has to work throughout the Internship. The dress code is strictly formal but you can wear Casuals on Saturdays.

The office is a 5 storey beautiful building which gives you the feeling as if you are actually working as an associate there.

Main Tasks

The main tasks included research work, assisting in drafting legal opinions, contracts and agreements.

Every intern has to submit an article on the topic allotted to them by their mentor on the commencement of the internship and present the same any time during the internship period.

Another good thing about S&P was that you might get legal research related to any subject, i.e., Corporate Law, Competition Law, IPR, Dispute Resolution, etc.

You get to learn a lot about drafting opinions and writing research articles.

The HR team of the firm oversees every intern and makes sure that each and every intern has been allotted some work.

The partners and associates explain the legal propositions very patiently regarding the work allotted whether it be any research work or drafting of documents.

You can directly ask any doubts from the respective partner or the associate.

Work environment, People

The work environment at S&P is something that requires an honorable mention.

Everyone from the Partners to the Associates was so hospitable and warm that you feel you have become an important part of the firm.

Everyone is given a chance to voice their point of view on the matters they are working on, which is appreciated by the members of the firm.

Every intern is provided with coffee along with Biscuits two times a day.

Moreover, if you are lucky enough and any Associate or partner has bought a new car or if there is any special occasion, you are offered sweets and Dunkin Donuts which indicates that how caring they are.

During the internship at S&P, everyone makes you feel that you are making a difference to the practice of the firm. What else does an intern seek?

Best Things

The best thing about S&P has to be its work environment.

Everyone is so patient, encouraging and chilled out that it drives you to work harder and perform efficiently as an intern.

Bad Things

Trust me, you won’t find a single bad thing about this firm.
