The internship taught me a lot in field of Patents. Starting from day one I got to know the environment of a company and way to work. I was working under Mr. Suman Polavarapu.

Under his able guidance I was able to learn and understand the intricacies of Patent , both from point of view of law and companies, which were very important for getting a thorough knowledge in the field.

I was taught the way the patents are treated from perspective of a commercial entity; which was not only interesting but also enlightening. Such knowledge develops the perspective , a student must have to look towards a patent from business aspect.

Main tasks

My project related to analyzing the economical and legal aspects of Indian Patent Statute in light of foreign jurisdictions.

Thus during my research in the project I had to analyze the similarities and distinctions between Indian Patent Statute and Foreign Statutes, thereby surfacing the pros and cons of such aspects.

During the research not only I found out where act stood out brilliantly from other jurisdictions , but also where our act was lagging behind.

I got to find out the impact of such provisions on practice of Patents in India and how we need to adapt ourselves for it.

Work environment and people

The environment of office was calm and comfortable. The facilities provided were comparable to state of the art.

The whole department was like a big family having a warm camaraderie, which not only encouraged you but also made you comfortable in new work place.
