First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
My first day a PKA was quite tiring. I arrived in the office at 9:00 am sharp. HR called me inside her cubicle and asked me my subjects of interests and then asked one of the peons to show me around the office.
I was first asked to meet one of the Associate who took out almost an hour to discuss a case of “Ramana Dayaram Shetty vs The International Airport” with me. I worked the whole day on finding judgments on the assigned case.
a. Researched in Constitutional Law, Indian Penal Code, Land Acquisition Act 1894 and other various fields in law court Visits with senior Associates.
b. Drafted Legal Notice to the Sahara Q shop in the matter context regarded to Compensation.
c. Research and assist associates of the firm in the matters related to Arbitration, Rajasthan Excise Act and Consumer protection Act.
d. Briefing of the cases with drafting Subject of Index.
Work environment and people
The work environment was quite friendly. The Associates were very helpful. They would not just assign you work but also take the pain of explaining the whole case to you in detail and they would entertain all your doubts.
They would joke around in the office and interact with you. They would tell you how their Court proceedings went. They would make sure that you do not feel like an outsider.
Best things for me would be the office environment. Everyone was very cooperative and made me feel as a part of the team. I was not treated any different and was given full freedom to express my concern regarding any matter and put forth my point of view and ask questions if required.
Timings were not flexible and burger was offered only on Fridays. ;P
None for all.
Work hard and be confident.
