First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
One’s expectation gets completely satisfied when it comes to the infrastructure and the kind of work environment. On the first day you have to get your pass from the reception while for the rest of the days permanent pass was given.
At the beginning I went to H.R and was told about the departments and my mentor. Having a mentor does not confine you, in case of no work you can always ask for it from other associates.
I was fortunate to get a mentor from core corporate area , who also kept me keep going with the works on time.
ONGC was not completely a research oriented place. You are always welcomed with your opinions with respect to your work. Since, it’s a company, so majority of their work is opinion based.
An intern is required to submit a project in consultation of their mentor followed by an oral presentation/ viva.
Work environment and people
The work environment at ONGC, Delhi is pretty good. It depends on the task given by your respective mentors. People were always in easy reach in case of any queries.
Initiative is always a key to good work.
If one wants to remain surrounded by the office environment and learn extra then ONGC was the place.
You can always choose to attend Conciliation proceedings between ONGC and the other parties.
Interning here and observing the soul of ONGC gave me an incentive to attempt for its recruitment exams if one desires to work in a company (energy based).
