First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On my first day I was welcomed in the office and introduced to the whole office staff and then one of the associates Mrs. Manjeet Kaur Ma’am told me all the working of the office and I was informed that we have to submit a project on any current issue.
The infrastructure of the office was nice and comfortable and what i liked the most was the coffee machine there, which later on proved very helpful and stress relieving.
Our main task was to assist the advocates working there like we were given particular cases to read and to prepare their briefs. We were also given a lot of research-work related to the cases.
In the court our major work was to keep an eye on the item numbers and to observe the court proceedings.
Work environment and people
Work environment in the office was very good as the associates working there were of very polite and helpful in nature. Mr. Ashish Kumar sir was friendly and he always taught us all the things in a fun plus learning way.
Manjeet ma’am was also very helpful and both of them are always ready to help you.
RD sir was a bit strict but he is a fabulous speaker and I have learned a lot from him.
Best thing during the internship was that I got a chance to meet so many new people in my profession and made many contacts, which is very important in this field and there are so many hangout places near the court, which were really helpful to relax and to were the best place to spend time with your new friends.
As such there are no bad things and it’s a fun plus learning experience.
The only bad thing is there is no stipend but the certificate is really nice.
The biggest lesson during this internship was that there is a lot to learn but one must have that zeal and enthusiasm to learn otherwise no one has time to waste upon the people who are not interested.
I am a locality so I didn’t have to apply for an accommodation, but if anybody wants a PG then there are a lot of pg near the office, as the office is situated at 10B-scheme, Triveni Nagar.
Office timing was divided in two parts. In the morning we had to visit high court and the timing was 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, later on we had to go to the office for the other day’s preparation and the timing was 7 PM to 9 PM.
The timing was very good as they give us time to regain the energy and it was not very strict.
