First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
Comfortable. Infrastructure was something you expect a government office to be like. We were introduced to the internship coordinator on day 1 and all the work was explained and a schedule was made for the whole duration of the internship.
Main tasks
Writing down briefs and recommendations for the complaints and applications for help that NALSA received. Visiting the Supreme Court, Lok Sabha, DSLSA, Tihar Jail, Sessions courts around Delhi to take a peek at the proceedings.
Work environment and people
Work environment was pretty good. There was no pressure, no deadline to be met as such. Just complete your work and you will be fine, even though there is not much work. I met people from different law schools, was a great opportunity to build a network.
Best things
The work environment and the co-interns. Our internship coordinator made sure that we were comfortable and could approach him for any problem we faced. You can also leave post lunch if your work is finished and you have taken permission to leave, which is usually always granted.
Great place if you want to rove around Delhi and also visit all the important ‘legal’ places.
Bad things
Not much work to do. Only recommended if you are a first year.
Stipend
None
Biggest Lessons
Not all internships are about working day in day out. You also need some where you can actually feel you are on a 2 month vacation.
