Duration of internship and timings

The duration of internship is 4 weeks. We did ours from 02/05/2015 to 28/05/2015.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

We were 3 people from our college we started our journey from Jaipur on 02/05/2015 in the morning, after a long bus journey we reached Bheem in the afternoon.

In the Bheem they have a small office we reported there. From there we went to the village Devdungri where we have to stay. There office is also there where most of the meetings happen.

In Devdungri it was two small houses basically where we stay in the night and do the allotted work during day time. Since it was a village so not very good infrastructure.

Main tasks

Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangthan is an organisation which had done very active campaign for the Right to Information Act.

In fact the whole idea of this act was produce by them only, they fought a long battle for implementing this act. Apart from this we have allotted several work related to public awareness only.

The work like observation of Social Audits, which were going on at that time there. Campaign for the starting of MGNERGA work, Pension Yojna, etc. We even participated in a Dharna also.

Work environment and people

The work environment is very good. Most of the people with whom we have to work with were villagers and they were very supportive and helpful.

The main 3 people of the organisation was Aruna ji, Nikhil ji, and Shankar ji. Though we do not have much opportunity to work with the earlier two but Shankar ji was very kind person.

People used to call him Mamaji so do we. His sense of humour is excellent, you can not be bored when he is around you.

Apart from all this, you have to help with cooking in the morning and evening also. I am very fond of cooking so loved to do that task.

Best things

The best thing during the internship was that you get to know about the ground reality.

Trust me it was an eyeopener for me. You get to know about what is all happening to all those plans which government has been started for the poor people.

You will get to know up to what extent they are reaching to them or not reaching at all. And more over to all this you get connected with the people.

Bad things

Food and water is a problem up to some extent. But people get used to of that after sometime.

Biggest Lessons

“Ekta me Shakti Hai”, after working with those people and those villagers you will get to know about the importance of team work.

The best lesson that I had learnt there was if you are resourceful do something for those who have nothing in their life, at least once.

The have a house in the village Devdungri there you have to stay they charge 100/- per day for food and stay.

Office Timings

There were no office timing you have to work from morning to evening even sometimes in the night also.

As it was an organisation which work for public awareness, so if you went somewhere for that purpose even you have to stay outside also.
