First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

I had butterfly’s in my stomach the office is that 8th floor of the buildings as I was interning under east India head legal Mr. Sohu he brainstormed me with the basic work of the organisation. HR completed the basic formalities.

Then my supervisor introduced me to the legal team which consisted of 4 employees and after the formalities were completed was given access to a system.

Main tasks

As I was in my 1st year of law I did not have much knowledge because of that I had to read Arbitration Act, section 138 of negotiable instrument act RBI Guidelines on repossession of vehicles first. Then I had to study the loan agreements of the organisation.

Then came the fun part which was assisting Lawyers in cases. I even had a chance to witness an arbitration session and was given some research task followed by updating Arbitration files.

Work environment and people

Work Environment is pretty friendly office is located in the hub of the city of joy in Salt lake sector V employees are very helpful they will always help you when you are in need.

Most of the days I use to bring my own lunch but there is KFC, CCD, Pizza Hut, MC’D and other local joints nearby with unlimited supply of coffee and tea in the office which includes evening snacks.

Best things

Best things it is a corporate exposure is at it’s best location is awesome you can learn and work at the same time. You get to learn the practical side of the subject which you don’t in Law School

Bad things

Bad things not too much work as i was just in my first year.

Biggest Lessons

Biggest lesson learned how to draft harsh side of the corporate, how to work under pressure, cope up with co-employees.

Any Other Thing

Leave office before 7:00 PM or you won’t be able to reach home before 11:00 PM

Overall Rating

I am from Calcutta itself but there are a lot of pg’s nearby in salt lake sector. Most of them wont cost more than 5k.

Office Timings

9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Monday to Saturday. Timings are pretty much flexible all they care about is the work getting completed.
