First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
The first impression that I had was that I am at good place. The first day did not include formalities to be true but a form which inquired as to my area of interest and expertise as well. The office infrastructure is very good.
The main task assigned was of research. The whole group of interns was allotted various things to research on a daily basis and each one of us were also allotted a wider research in the first week of the internship. The specific topic allotted had to be extensively researched and presented at the end of the internship to the whole team of associates and advocates.
Work environment and people
The work environment was very good. It had a wonderful blend of professionalism with a personal touch. The associates, advocates and interns all of them worked as a group helping and supporting each other.
The best things included the work environment, infrastructure, the comfort level offered both physical and mental while working there in the office and out of all the one ruling out was the attitude of the associates and advocates. All of them were supportive at every step and guided me through with ease.
This was the sole reason that my internship ended up being such a learning experience.
Nobody cares for you if you don’t wish to work. If you show the zeal, willingness and capability to work only then you gonna get opportunities otherwise it’s very easy to sit back and enjoy as nobody is gonna bother except the part that you still got to justify the main research topic allotted to you.
No stipend was offered at that time and as per my knowledge they don’t offer it anytime.
Biggest lesson was that as a lawyer you must stay smart, on the go, thoughtful at every step of yours. The liability is always on you to serve and not on the party so you must be over responsible at every step.
Any Other Thing
Be there and watch it for yourself. It is a place where a person interested to work would get great avenues to learn and gather a great deal of experience.
I had relatives in Delhi so it was easier for me otherwise there are many PGs available in the nearby locality.
The office timings were 9 am to 6 pm. For a few days I personally worked till 8 pm also as I was working on a few cases with the associates and advocates. But it was completely voluntary on my part to work otherwise no one was ever told to sit back and work in the late hours.
