First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

It is a pretty old firm. Infrastructure is good and has visibly planned seating arrangements.

On the very first day one of the Partners had personal interaction with us and depending upon interest areas mentors were allotted to each intern joining along with me.

Main tasks

Mainly, allotted work was research based. But there was no one-kind of work hence it never got mundane.

Variety of work ranged from corporate to civil litigation. There were matters related to power sector, petroleum E&P related disputes, due diligence, advisories etc.

Work environment and people

Well, work environment was moderately lenient. While work was allotted frequently but there was no pressure. Mentors were easily approachable.

At times partners also, allotted some work and were kind enough to forgive mistakes and gave opportunity to rectify the same.

Best things

Everyday had a different nature of work, different areas of research.

In case our mentor didn’t have any work to delegate or was to busy to entertain as at a particular moment, we were at full liberty to approach others for work. All of them were very accommodating and willing to make us learn things.

Bad things

There was no good food joint near by.

Biggest Lessons

There were times when we were occupied by series of work from various senior associates and, at times, from partners too; that was the time when we had to examine the priority of works allotted and wind them up in apt sequence.

Obviously, there were time constraints & deadlines thus multi-tasking came in handy.

NOT every one will be accommodating. You will have to develop quick understanding of people and their nature and deal with them accordingly.

Overall Rating

Had relatives there. However there is a boys’ PG in Bank of India building, Fort locality, near Horniman Circle.

It is at walking distance from office.

Office Timings

It can be stretched to maximum of 7:30 PM or 8:00 PM as after that, office has to be closed due to some mutual arrangement with building owner of Central Bank of India.
