Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength

Link legal, Delhi, office was decent with total strength of 50-60.

Application Process

I applied by sending my CV to Mr. Anupam sarda, Principal Associate. Continuous follow ups are required in order to get the internship. it is better to apply two months in advance.

Duration of internship and timings

4 weeks i. e 28 days. From 12th may 2014 till 9th June 2014.

Timings were from 10:30 till 6:30.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On the first day I met Anupam Sarda sir, he just asked me to wait and I waited for almost 30 to 45 minutes (my patience as being tested). Then I entered the firm where I was given a desk.

No work was given to me on the first day I was just gazing at the people waiting to get some work from the associates. No mentor was assigned.

Main tasks

Research and note making on cases and laws dealing with Trademarks Act 1999, Sarfaesi Act, IPR etc. Assisted in Summarizing sale deed diligence and made closure reports on sale deeds, opinion on applicability of PF, gratuity, drafted an opinion on payment of gratuity by IT companies to its employees, applicability of provident fund and the laws to be governed for applicability.

Researched cases/laws on refund of fees by college, Rules, Guidelines, Provisions prescribed by State Govt regarding admission in Haryana private technical university under Haryana technical education act 2006 & regulation and fixation of fee act 2012,

Researched and assisted in understanding the concept of Annual revenue Requirement in Electricity (what it ARR, modus operandi of ARR, etc.)

Work environment and people

All the seniors at Link Legal were very warm and encouraging and guided me to the core.

They made us understand each and every legal problems/ issues/ difficulties when it was hard for us to grasp mentally.

Best things

Flexible timings, I must say I reached office at 11 11:30 and stayed until 6 max till 8( 5-6 days). So for me the timings were really convenient as I used to travel from Gurgaon.

You get unlimited coffee and sometimes Ice- cream to chill you up.

Bad things

We were not introduced to the partners at all and none of the partner interacted or assigned work to us, so for me it was disappointing.

Biggest Lessons

Try to do as much work as possible, build good contacts as you will require them in future, the work given by law firms to interns is mostly research work so do good research and you will be applauded for sure.

Try not to sit idle and just be ready to do any work given to you.
