Duration in weeks. No. of days/week. Timings

Since I was in Delhi for a very short duration, I interned here for 2 weeks (1st-15th January).

The interns are required to work a minimum of 6 days a week, from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M.

Accommodation: how, where, how was it?

I reside in Delhi itself.

The firm is located (GK I M-Block Mkt.) not very far from my home and commuting to the office was not a problem.

First impression. First day, formalities etc.

The first day I reported to the office and some of the associates had left for the High Court. One of the associates was leaving as well and I was asked to accompany him.

After coming back I was introduced to the Owner of the firm and all the people present at the office, after which I was given a file to read.

The associates were young, friendly and encouraged me to research on various aspects of the file given to me.

Main tasks

There are a variety of matters, including company related matters which I was interested in.

The work expected from the interns is qualitative and not quantitative as rather than reading and observing all the matters of the firm, one is required to study and research minute details on a few selected matters assigned to us.

Apart from reading files, research work and attending various court proceedings; interns are required to attend client conferences  with sir.

Work environment, people

The work environment was friendly and the best part was that the office had an in house C.A and C.S to assist sir for the Company’s (owned by Sir) matters and in my free time I would ask them to assign me research work pertaining to their respective fields.

The people:
Owner : Adv. Rajeev Aggarwal
Legal Associates : Adv. Akshay Goel ; Adv. Priyam Agrawal
C.S : Ms. Divya
C.A : Mr R.K. Jha
Legal Clerk : Prakash Nautiyal

And various other support staff.

Best things?

For me a shopaholic the best thing was the location of the firm which is situated right in the middle of GK I M-Block Market and often after office I would roam about and shop here.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns, colleagues

I was the only intern during this period, but since the Associates were young and friendly we hung out during lunch hour and luckily Starbucks is round the corner as our various eateries and we used to catch a bite after office/ lunch.

Stipend/ month

The stipend is usually performance based and I received Rs 2500.

Anything else you’d like to tell

The Associates are all friendly and often indulge in friendly arguments on legal and political topics which increases one’s knowledge on various topics.
