Duration of Internship and timings
May 10, 2016 – May 28, 2016
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
First day at KJA is ever memorable.
Director Babu sir and the co directors briefed about the rules and regulations of the academy, every interns at KJA has to do a 30minute presentation on the topics assigned by the directors.
Additional director Rajeev sir assigned my topic from penal code and instructed to visit library during afternoon sessions for presentation preparations.
And then I was sent to the lecture hall of the academy along with the office staff.
All interns were seated at the back of the lecture hall. I met my co interns and learnt about the academy rules.
The lecture begins at 10.00 am the interns as well the magistrate trainees must be there in the hall before 10.00.
No interns are permitted to go out during the office hours. 10.00 am – 5.00 pm.
No unnecessary leave, interns must be present during the internship period.
No casual attires.
The academy building was earlier the highcourt of kerala and later it was converted into judicial academy , the spacious court room was then turned out as the lecture hall .
The impressive part about the academy was the library they possessed.
With wide range of books and records.
The rules were strict still the lecture sessions were really good and as a beginner I got an opportunity to learn and to sketch an idea about CPC and CrPC .
The co interns helped me to find the necessary books and case laws for my presentation.
The academy had only a few interns as the rules were strict.
The first day was really impressive.
The main task of each and every intern is to do a paper presentation on the topic assigned by the director. Which is necessary for the successful completion of internship
Work environment and people
The work environment was really peaceful, as there are only a few interns we were able to discuss and complete our works without much delay.
Each and every staffs, magistrate trainees and panel of directors helped us to complete our work in perfection.
The magistrate trainees help us with their case material when in neeed .
The best things about the academy is the warm approach of staffs, trainees as well directors to the interns.
They are ready to help you during with research work as well during the presentation.
The co interns, the least opted place is the judicial academy as the rules are pretty hard and work is a bit tedious students never give a shot.
There were only 4 interns during my internship period.
They were really helpful and had a sound knowledge about various skies of law.
The afternoon research sessions turned out to be a really fruitful hours of discussion which helped us to develop better views and points.
The academy served us breakfast , lunch and tea as.like they serve the magistrate trainees and directors. Which increased the proximity to a greater extend.
The timing was sometimes a big issue, especially during evening.
The experience you gain from KJA is more than stipend.
Learnt the biggest and valuable lesson of exploring the places alone, I went alone for internship like that of me my fellow interns were also one man army, which helped us to form a really good friend circle which is still alive.
Actually each and everyone should do internship individually than of going as a flock . It will help you to build better relations as well you will build an ability to do your things yourself than of copy pasting.
When I applied for internship at Judicial Academy, some of my seniors and a few teachers tried to discourage, they suggested local police stations and some local NGO’s where the interns just visit 2 days and obtain certificate for 30 days without any internship report , actually never do it.
Just go somewhere were you will gain something good for your career and future.
As my home is just a 30 minute ride I preferred to stay at home.
Still there are a lot of pg’s.
The office timings were from morning 10.00 am to evening 5.00 pm during Saturdays it was relaxed to 4.00 pm.
