Application Process with contact details

I personally contacted the senior lawyer and he was a close associate of my family. Then I was asked to submit a cover letter from the college and I produced the same.

Duration of internship and timings

3rd – 25th May, 2016

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The first impression was very welcoming. I had a very cordial conversation with the senior advocate and he gave me a case note to read the hearing of which was to take place on the same day. I was introduced to other Associates and went to the district court with them on the same day.

Main tasks

I was given case dockets handled by the firm. Every evening there was a half hour discussion with the senior advocate.

I was given the permission to clear my doubts and clarifications whenever I needed.

Moreover, the associates asked me to visit the courts everyday. Some days they too accompanied me. I also helped to draft some cases.

Work environment and people

The environment is very friendly and welcoming. At morning it’s all busy schedule with attending the court and all. But afternoon the atmosphere is less of less pressure. Other lawyers come and we used to had some friendly and humorous conversations about the cases we had to deal with today and also daily happenings around.

Best things

The associates and the senior advocates were very friendly and helpful. I felt like home there. I was given permission to pick case files of my choice. Even the other staffs and even the accountant of the firm was very friendly and cooperative. Overall I loved there.

Bad things

I couldn’t find anything bad about that place.

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

I came to know about what actually happens in a court. Clinical study is a pre requisite in legal profession as well like any other profession. It gives one an opportunity to know about really happens around us outside the cocoon of our attractive and thrilling college life. It prunes us to be a good advocate and to horn our advocacy skills.

Any Other Thing

Overall the atmosphere, staff and associates and the office were very good.

Overall Rating

No I stayed at my relative’s house which was near.

Office Timings

It was 10 am to 4 pm. But I used to reach there by 9:15. Hence I had some relaxations allowed. However not always.
