I applied for this Internship in May, 2017. One can propose his/her own choice of date on which he/she would like to intern provided it should be minimum of 4 weeks and maximum of 4 months.
Thereby, I applied for 3 months from 1st June, 2017 to 31st August, 2017 which fall in my summer vacations.
I got a call from Jammu & Kashmir State Judicial Academy on second week of May. They notified me that I have been selected for the internship and they confirmed my willingness orally.
Based on that, I received my internship order via email on the same day and I acknowledged the same.
On reaching the Academy, I showed my internship order in the security desk so as to enter the Academy.
Then, I reported to the Director, J&K State Judicial Academy who assigned me the duties of – preparing reports out of verbatim reports of the concluded conferences, rapporteuring for programmes, assisting in preparing study materials for upcoming conferences, studying and analyzing the cases of the Supreme Court and various High Courts, editing the monthly newsletters, etc.
It was a good experience where I got exposed to greater field of knowledge. About the campus of the Academy, it is located on the outskirts of the scenic and ancient city of Srinagar.
The Academy campus is widely acknowledged to be the best judicial education campus in India. The Academy has a well endowed library, conference and seminar rooms and a state-of-the-art auditorium.
The entire premise of Academy is very beautiful and pleasant. In other words, it gives a feeling like someone is in Switzerland.
Those who got the opportunity to intern in Jammu & Kashmir State Judicial Academy are really the blessed ones as the Academy’s eco-friendly and high-tech environment provides the budding legal practitioners a fruitful and productive know-how about law. I really admire and rejoice the beauty of such a wonderful place.
The campus was such a beautiful place where one can hardly pass through without clicking snaps. The food they provided was good and tasty. Since buffet is served, I had a variety of delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
An internship may seem intimidating, but it is important to examine one’s interests in depth so that one can be confident in all of his/her abilities.
