Internship @ Senior Advocate J P Sengh, Delhi: Court Visits, Follow-ups on Cases {s}

Duration of internship? 

3 weeks.

How big was the office? Team Strength? 

Small chamber in the High Court premises, Lawyers Chamber Block I. Just sir himself and his daughter, but his wife is also an advocate in the high court and she has a junior, and they were usually in the same chamber.

Timings? Number of working days per week? 

5 days mostly, 6 on Occasion.

First Impression? First day? Formalities? 

No formalities, first day was eventless. Sir’s wife asked me to attend any courtroom I wished and to follow sir’s cases.

Main Tasks? 

No work, just observe any court you wish to.

Work Environment? People? 

Work environment, fine, people, fine.

Best things? 

Freedom to choose as you wish, attend your favourite courts, leave as soon as court is done.

Things that could’ve been better? 

There could have been work, research if not much else.

What did you do to chill? Co-interns? 

There were two co interns in the office and many in the high court, we usually just chilled there only, but Khan Market is close by too.

Biggest lessons? 

Make sure that wherever you are applying, they keep an active internship programme where interns are given work.
