First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

The first impression was pretty good considering how much I had heard about HRLN, Kolkata having an average work environment.

Infrastructure consisted of 3 Desktops with access to Internet and a horde of books.

Main tasks

Framing drafts from raw material of cases.

Translation of Written Statements from Bengali to English.

Research on Domestic Violence, Riverbank Encroachment etc.

Framing Affidavits.

Work environment and people

The people and the work environment were both satisfactory.

Best things

Relaxed timings.

Approachable Partners.

Chance to go to High Court once in a while.

Bad things

Had to ask for work.

The desktops weren’t state-of-the-art.

Biggest Lessons

This was my first internship. I gelled well with my co-interns and we all learnt how to work on a deadline. My researching skills got a polish as well. Gaining new concepts and ideas was the main productive return.
