According to me the acceptance is pretty much first-come-first-serve.
So go ahead and apply 4 months before your internship.
Duration of internship and timings
Monday to Friday – 09:30 am to 06:00 pm.
Saturday – 09:30 am to 01:00 pm.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the first day we were required to come at 10:00 am. We were given a brief orientation and introduced to everyone.
This happened because there were around 20 interns joining that day.
You are required to give Rs. 1000.
We were told this for people who cannot afford to intern at HRLN and goes towards their accommodation.
There are 3 floors.
The basement has a small library and it is used as a conference place also.
The second floor is where all the lawyers sit.
There is also a separate area which is 1 km from the main building which currently is the office for those working on Reproductive Rights.
People were given petitions, bail applications, complaints etc to draft.
Everyone is taken to the courts at least once.
Some people interning with me have gone for protests also.
There is lots of research work.
Everyone is required to carry their laptops.
Work environment and people
The work environment is casual.
Enough space is given to do what you want to do.
Most people are nice.
