I applied two month before internship.
Received a call from head coordinator Mannat Ma’am. Certain questions were asked by them regarding about my interest, within a week i got a reply that I was selected to be part of an NGO.
Duration of internship and timings
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On first day, the Head Coordinator introduced us to the faculty of the NGO. Then Aastha mam key member of an NGO informed us regarding what NGO is all about i.e. regarding Drug awareness camp.
Presentation was there by her regarding what is drug abuse, example of how Punjab is addicted to drugs and how now main metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai and other areas are slowly becoming Drug hubs.
We were around 8 interns, groups were made and accordingly whole Delhi area, NCR area, Faridabad area was divided in which interns have to go to Public as well as Private schools to give presentation and for permission to organize a seminar.
Infrastructure wise on first day we met at Indraprast University in Dwarka.
Main task was to give presentations in various Public School and Private School.
We visited Rehabilitation center in Faridabad for the guidance more in regarding to it.
Then we were informed that we have to make a research paper on one of the topic criteria should be covering various drugs.
Work environment and people
Work environment was good as Mannat maám, head coordinator and Aastha ma’am were very friendly and was able to learn a lot from them.
It was a great learning experience, from giving presentation to attend various seminars.
With the guidance of the authorities I was able to contribute more and received an award of appreciation.
But most importantly by giving presentation I was able to contribute in the society.
The biggest lesson learned was that its not always thinking about yourself , contributing in the society cause give its own happiness.
Any Other Thing
I stayed with my relatives, mainly it was a field work so it was not a big problem.
But PG were also available in the nearby location of an NGO.
On first day we have to reach 11 am at University.
There was no official timings as mainly it was a field work but once or twice a week you have to report to the head branch of NGO.
