Application procedure? Internship Contact Details

One has to go through a simple application procedure. Apply to their internship coordinator Nivedita Dhar and the firm is quite prompt in replying to your application.

Apply well in advance to have a fair chance at finding a free slot.

The place was over occupied with interns this summer.

Send your applications to with a CV and a decently drafted covering letter.

Duration in weeks. Days of work per week. Timings.

The firm requires you to do an internship of minimum 4 weeks without which they don’t give an experience certificate.

You will be delighted to know that office is open only 5 days a week.

The timings are also not too bad being from 9.30 in the morning till roughly 6 in the evening.

First impression, first day, formalities

First impression of the firm on me was pretty good. A decent infrastructure and mostly sweet people to talk to and to direct. It was my first law firm internship and I think this place is best suited for that. Gives you a flavour of what the big firms are going to do with you.

Also you are required to carry ‘Authorization Letter’ from your college stating that you are a bonafide student of that college.

However, even your College ID would do.

Also each intern has to maintain a time- sheet wherein you are required to jot down whatever work is assigned to you and by whom and get it signatured by the assignor.

Main tasks

If you are really interested in working then they can allot you almost anything and everything. From general researching to drafting replies, evidence, statements etc. to even preparing invoices for the firm. You want, you can get to go to the courts. You want, you get to attend meetings with the clients.

All in all it’s not about how much they give you, it’s about how much you want to take from them.

Further, it would be mandatory for a presentation to be made jointly or singularly, on any legal topic of your choice which has to be presented to some associates in your last week of internship.

Work environment, people

It is a chilled out place to be in where most associates and partners are friendly and understanding. Not much pressure of work- you can sit and choose to do nothing the whole day and can also go up to people and ask for work.

Most associates and partners are nice and helpful. They are patient in teaching you stuff and therefore do not expect you to be perfect in everything you take up.

The best things AND the bad things

I think “The Best” would go to the food and if you have a sweet tooth then you will definitely find it tough waiting for the lunch time.

Also the work culture. Best for those who want to do absolute timepass and even better for those who really want to learn and leave with handsfull of experience.

“The Bad” is that you can’t afford to get late! From the security guard to the receptionist to the internship coordinator, everyone’s going to take your class.

Another thing you can’t afford is to go out in the lunch break. You have to spend these hours cramped strictly in the premises. However, you have the liberty to order food from outside.

No Stipend 🙁 I think they try to make that up with the free food they give.

Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?

There are PGs easily available in adjoining Noida sectors.

You can chill by ordering food from outside or by taking benefit of the canteen seating and chill with friends over coffee and snacks.

Also you can pass an entire day watching shows on your laptop, and nobody would find out. There are special seats which give you that leverage. 😛

Basically can be summarised precisely as “fun learning experience”.
