How did you apply for the internship?
There was no procedure for this internship.
I directly contacted one of the junior Advocates in this law firm then the senior most Advocate conduct an interview before selecting me for the internship.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
In the 1st day of my internship, they direct me to the court and make me familiar with the court proceedings after that introduce the office works which is assigned to me and the case files.
Main Tasks
1. Understand the court function and different procedures to be followed by the court officer;
2. Understand and analyze the client and find the issues with respect to the case and also find the legal provisions which are applicable to the respected case;
3. Conduct a deep research in the provisions of the statute with regard to the facts of the case;
4. Read and analyze Supreme court and High courts judgments and make a short note on the main points in the judgment for the future purpose;
5. Visit different courts and and make a short note on the cases which is hearing there; and
6. Assist the mediation process and make a report.
Work Environment
The working environment was very friendly and invigorative. The seniors and juniors were always ready to help me to understand the court procedures and the research assignments.
They were very cool to answer the innocent doubts of the interns.
Good Things
It was a very chill experience.
You could learn what the court and the procedure to be followed for various cases and clients had to be, for the freedom to express yourself and your ideas.
Bad Things
There is no any bad things about this internship.
Stipend
No stipend.
Details about accommodation and commute
Some of the students were dependent on PG(s) or hostel(s) but I completed my internship by travel by my own vehicle to the office. Since the office is situated merely 20 kms from my place.Â
Anything else?
At the end of the internship you had to submit an internship report which included the nature of the office and work which is assigned to the interns and also included the behavior of the staffs.
