First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day, I had to go to the administrative office. There were many other interns too. We were told to wait outside. After half an hour, they came out with a list. We had to visit the prisons in a group of two. I was happy as I was paired with my best friend.

Main tasks

We were asked to visit different prisons everyday. We had to interact with the prisoner and write about them and their cases. We were supposed to submit a weekly report at the end of the internship.

Work environment and people

It was a bit scary and depressing on the first day. There are police men at every 10 steps of the jail.

Best things

Best thing was that there was a canteen which had a lot of eatables. The people who were working there were prisoners themselves and made awesome rajma chawal! It was a great experience altogether.

Bad things

No bad things at all!

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

You should be with your partner all the time and you shouldn’t accept anything from prisoner.
