First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

Internship at RSP was my first proper law-firm internship.

I was asked by the HR to report to the office at 10:30 am, however I reached early and I had to wait for her.

Until then each associates coming into the office were looking at me, frankly speaking one feel really uncomfortable while waiting at reception on very first day of the office.

I was a little apprehensive about the internship in the beginner. Gradually work started pilling up, I didn’t even realize how time flies and how I spend my 2 months of internship.

The infrastructure is amazing and fairly large, with 5-6 partners and around 24 associates.

Main tasks

My main task was conducting extensive research on some of the provisions of Companies Act 2013 and pertaining to case laws for various ongoing matters.

I was also part of a due-diligence team, so I studied different types of lease and leave and license agreements, conducted research on the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, Indian Registration Act 1908 and guidelines of various States relating to it.

In the last week of my internship. I was asked to prepare a detailed report on various landmark cases on ‘Real Estate’. I mostly spend my time in doing research work, right from Companies Act 2013 to Negotiable Instrument Act 1881

Work environment and people

Work environment was very friendly.

Best things

Best thing was the friendly nature of the associates with the interns, sharing their tiffin box and having fun with the co-interns.

Bad things

No drafting work

Rs. 3000/- per month

Biggest Lessons

If you want to get work, then you have to work hard (asking work from them continuously).
