Duration, Timings

1 month, 9-5 pm

First impression, First day formalities, Infrastructure

Infrastructure is decent for a government office. The first day impression of the office was okay, but the AMS sir, and our mentor during the internship were welcoming.

Main Tasks

Reading Mediation Cases, Making reports for NALSA by compiling information from the district offices, Project JAAGO: social survey and spreading legal awareness, Creating a Facebook Page.

Work environment, People

The Work environment of the office was like any government office (enough said). AMS sir was amazing and I had a number of great conversations on pertinent topics with him.

He put in all his efforts to make the internship a good learning experience with maximum exposure.

Best Things

Location, 5 minutes walk from sec 17 market. Opportunity to experience root problems of the legal system.

Opportunity to experience National Lok Adalat.

Bad Things

No organized Internship schedule, Delays in office procedures, Lack of coordination which led to cancellation of Jail Visit.

Promised, but not received yet.

Biggest Lessons

Never intern alone. Never do a 1 month internship at a Legal Services Authority office. Decide an agenda and schedule in advance with the office.

Any Other Thing

Make sure to get your certificate before leaving.
