I was told to reach the office by 10 in the was the first day of court after winter vacation, I was told to sit and wait. The office is a small but fully equipped and good infrastructure.

As you enter the office one can see two rooms at one side  which is  the room of the  partners of the firm Hemant Singh and Matrugupta Mishra.

There is place where the associates and interns work and small area where books are kept (small library). There is a conference room and one room for the third partner of the firm Ms. Shikha Ohri. She is adorable lady.

There is a kitchen area where you can get coffee, tea. There were no such formalities,I was told to wait and after few minutes Hemant sir(partner of the firm) called the interns and had a interaction session. As the day passed the interns were introduced to other partners and associates of the firm.

Hemant sir, being the partner of the firm  is very approachable and he is always ready to clear your doubts and advice you and a very knowledgeable man

Main Tasks

The main work of the law firm was on electricity litigation. The interns were given research work.

I was assigned lot of  research work on contract law, competition act 2002 and on electricity Act 2003.

The interns were sent to Appellate Tribunal for electricity whenever the case was listed in the tribunal on which case the intern is working.

Work environment, People

The best part of this internship was the working environment. The working environment was very informal and the partners Matrugupta Mishra (Matru sir) Hemant sir, Shikha mam, were very friendly and approachable. Meghana Aggarwal and Tushar Nagar were the associates of the law firm.

Both of them were very helpful and cool people,But the coolest mentor one could ever get was mMtru sir. He is a very knowledgeable man and has the best sense of humour.

Best Things

The best things at the firm were the people at the firm.

From partners to associates, everyone there was very friendly. Everyday at office was fun. This was my last internship and was  the best one.

The lunch time used to be the best time when everyone from the partners to court clerk and interns used to sit together and have lunch. Meghana the associate at the firm used to bring yummy gajar ka halwa.

She always used to bring extra lunch for everyone. There were two other co-interns Samyank and Idrish who were junior to me. Both were very friendly and hardworking and I enjoyed their company also.

Overall the internship was my best experience.

Bad Things

I can’t recall any bad things at Praxis.

5000 Rs

Biggest Lessons

The biggest lesson was that informal and friendly environment at workplace brings out the best work from anyone.

I had previously interned at many law firms but this was the best place because the working environment was the best.
