How did you apply for the internship?
I applied at the chambers of Pradeep sir by sending my CV and cover letter to the mail id – internship@pradeeprai.com.
The application process seems quite simple but I would advice to add a personalized note, that gives a brief description about you, your qualities, skills and interests.
First day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
I was asked to report at 10:00 am at the office. There were around 15 people who showed up for the internship.
We were greeted by our internship coordinator, who took brief introduction of each of us.
The office where we were supposed to report was really professional and most importantly had a dedicated corner consisting of law books.
Main Tasks
The main tasks that I was supposed to do was making daily case briefs of Supreme Court cases, attending Supreme Court hearings (I interned in the month of October when the courts were working virtually).
And making briefs out of them, writing legal articles on current issues, drafting arguments for high profile cases (Hotel Savoy, Unitech), writing various research papers and doing sophisticated research work.
Work Environment
The environment was really work-friendly. My mentor was a really learned and professional teacher who guided me so well and helped at all points. The co-interns were also very cooperative and helpful.
Good Things
Almost everything about this internship was good. It was full of exposure and experience. Throughout the time period of one month, I learned extensively.
I became comfortable with different types of work, meeting deadlines on time and increasing my efficiency in legal writing as well as judgment reading.
And the best part out of all was appreciation that I would receive, every time my work was up to the mark.
Bad Things
I could not find any loop holes as such. In my experience, overall everything was great.
Stipend
No stipend was included.
Details about accommodation and commute
The office is located in sector 68, which is a commercial area. One can easily find accommodation in the nearby areas such as Sector 69 and 71.
Anything else?
This was so far one of the best internships I ever experienced. I made friends, we went out to malls and cafes and made a lot of memories together.
Also, there was so much that I learnt from my co-interns and all of it combined made the experience worth it.
