Phoenix Legal, New Delhi

The office is situated at the 2nd and 3rd floors of building no. 254 of Okhla Industrial Estate, Phase III, New Delhi.

I lived in Lajpat Nagar-4, Amar Colony PG,I used to take uber cabs, but Govindpuri, is the nearest metro station to the office, and you can take a share-auto to Phase III.

During the rush hours, metro is the fastest route to commute by.

Office Timings

The office timings are from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm. But depending on the work one gets, the intern may have to stay back late.

It happened with me at two instances, but even after that commuting was not a problem. Auto-rickshaws, E-rickshaws, Uber cabs, OLA cabs are always available even after the official hours.

Application Procedure

One could apply for the internship by mailing their CV with a short cover letter to [email protected]

Duration of Internship

I interned for 4weeks

1st Aug, 2017 – 28th Aug, 2017.

Internship Experience

In the office, all the associates, partners and staffs are very friendly and helpful. The associates are always ready to help with any kind of doubts.

The firm has two major divisions – the corporate team and the litigation team. Interns keep getting works from the both the teams as per the team’s requirements.

I worked both with the corporate and litigation team

The work which the interns are given must be completed duly and efficiently as the interns are trusted with the work they are delegated.

Interns are made to sit in the library in the 2nd floor, so they also have easy access to the commentaries and legal dictionaries. Some interns may also receive work directly from the partners!

Initially, majority of work involved proof reading of documents, but once the associates, senior associates and counsels start trusting  you with their work, extensive research work is given on various aspects of law and few a times drafting agreements as well.

The stipend amount differs as per the firm’s policy.

Any other thing

There is a pantry where interns and also the others have their lunch.

Everybody brings their own lunch because there are not much restaurants around. But there’s a dhaba nearby named VFC(Vikas Fast food) and its cheaper to order food from.

Otherwise, one could also order from Swiggy, foodpanda or Zomato and get a delivery done.

Work Atmosphere

The best part about the office is that everybody can have unlimited tea or coffee and cookies which proves to be really helpful at the time of excessive work-load and stress.

The overall experience with the firm was quite helpful, though interns are sometimes given few clerical and mechanical works. But all the associates are happy to provide help and guidance whenever necessary and the interns do get some important matters to work upon and learn.
