ONGC (Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited), Mangalore, 1000+
I got in through a known person there but otherwise you can apply even through their website.
Duration of internship and timings
I interned there for a 3 weeks.
Timings were from morning 10 to evening 5 pm.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
As such when I entered the ONGC (mrpl) premises it was bit scary as I could see many industries and once you enter you have to walk a lot.
I was taken to the training section when I was given a brief intro about the work and timings and procedures.
I was taken for a safety task training as its an industry.
Infrastructure as such is very good, after all Central Government is funding it.
I was given work at the admin of the company.
All I had to do is make a report on a topic and submit it to them at last.
I had research work mainly and some other office work I had to study the industrial labour act and make a research on it as well.
Work environment and people
Work environment is good.
Even the top officers will assist you in all the related works.
Its like your working in top companies of India.
So its the best.
The work and the guidance you get helps you to learn a lot.
It’s men oriented so you would hardly or rather find any girls in the whole campus so at times you won’t feel comfortable.
I learned to work in a totally new atmosphere.
I learned various things about how one has to do their work and how I have to work in a government company.
Any Other Thing
It’s really a one time experience one should wait for.
