Internship Experience @ National Commission for Minorities, New Delhi: Good Infra, Research Work

Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength

National Commission for Minorities, New Delhi

Application Process

Either send a mail on or go their office and talk to them directly. I chose the latter option.

Their office is located in Khan Market.

National Commission for Minorities,

5th Floor,Lok Nayak Bhavan, Khan Market.

Duration of internship and timings

1 month.

Timings are not fixed.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day I met Mr. N.K. Guatam, Administration officer.

He guided me through the working and setup of National Commission for Minorities.

After explaining everything me and my co-interns were assigned a guide.

The guide was the member of any community working there.

Infrastructure is good.

Main tasks

After meeting my guide I got to know that for one whole month I have to write a research paper and submit it at the end.

No other work is given there.

You cannot hear the proceedings or do any other work. Come, sit in the library, use the books and write your research paper. That was the only thing to do.

Work environment and people

Work environment luckily got good due to co-interns. Apart from this the member (guide) was really helpful and the librarian helped a lot in choosing the right book.

It was an average experience. I wont recommend going there until you are pursuing your post graduation and have a good time to research and write.

Biggest Lessons

Enquire before you join !!

I did a mistake of joining there without asking about the work they offer and ended up writing a research paper for one whole month.

People there aren’t really interested in getting your research paper printed in their magazine/journal.
