Internship Experience @ MP Human Rights Commission: Helps in overall development of a law student!

Duration of internship and timings

Internship can be done in two sessions 15th May to 15th June & 1st December to 30th December every year.

Timings – 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

First day there will Registration by filing up of prescribed form then officials will tell about the overview of the Commission.

You must keep forwarding letter of your University/ College along with a copy of your identity card.

Officials will also discuss about Historical prospective of Human Rights and UDHR 1948 and Protection of Human Rights Act- 1993.

Main tasks

On 3rd or 4th day Research Officer will discuss topics and allot the topics to respective groups and he also ask to prepare synopsis on those topics.

Interaction will be there with DSP, SP and other senior officer for discussion related to Human Rights.

Main Tasks include field visits, data collection from primary source with the help of questionnaire.

At the end there will be a data compilation, analysis and preparation of the project report. And court proceeding is also involved.

Work environment and people

Environment is good with free Wi-Fi Facility and well establish library and well furnish, the office comprises of Chairman, Principal Secretary, Registrar, Addl. Director Deputy Secretary, Addl. Director General of Police and SP.

Good things

MPHRC has its separate library and well furnish area for working and helpful staff. Staffs help the interns for clearing of doubts and discuss with them each and everything properly.

Bad things

To conduct a survey in backward or remote areas in summers and all travel expenses has to be borne by students.


No stipend is there.

Learned about UDHR policies.

Central and State Government Policies related to Human Rights.

Working of Commission.

How MPHRC provides remedies to needy people.

Any Other Thing

Doing Internship in MPHRC is worth it. Provide good experience in the field of Human Rights and helpful in Academics purpose too.

As a Law student it helps in overall development. Strict rules are there which has to be followed like discipline and punctuality.


I am a localite but those who are not will also get rooms easily at very reasonable rate within a walking distance.
