Internship Experience @ Legal Team, Hindustan Times, Noida: Free Coffee, Research and Drafting Work

Name of Organisation, Location city, Team Strength

Hindustan Times, Noida

Application Process with contact details

I got the contact details from a friend who had few contacts there. I just sent in my CV to the following email id and got the confirmation within few days.

They have two offices. One at the Kasturba Gandhi Marg in Delhi and the other one in Sector 63 in Noida. I interned at the Noida office.

Duration of internship and timings

April 6, 2015 to April 30, 2015

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

It is Hindustan Times. So yes the office was huge. It was in fact intimidating since I was the only intern there.

The legal department is quite small and they had difficulty in allotting a place for me to sit. Though in the end I was given a small conference room and I used to be there all by myself and do the work.

I actually liked the privacy they gave to the interns. First day I just finished all the required formalities and got no work.

Main tasks

Main tasks were research work. And I based all my research work on media and advertising laws since these are the main areas which the legal department of HT looks into.

They have litigation team also. I did few drafting projects for them.

Work environment and people

Work environment was awesome. All the lawyers in the legal department plus people from other department were very friendly and approachable. I had an awesome time interning there.

Best things

FREE COFFEE THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Yes we could have coffee whenever we wanted. This was the best part.

Free and super fast WiFi and yes there was no restriction on the usage of YouTube or Facebook or any other website for that matter.

Bad things

No food joints near the office or any place to hang out since the office was located in the industrial area and had only office buildings.

No stipend

Biggest Lessons

Good experience of corporate internship. First hand experience of how corporate world is and how it all works.
