Only the first Saturdays of the month are working, otherwise, weekends are off.
When I first walked into the office, I was struck by how friendly everyone was. Its quite a small team of only around 5 professionals, but from varied backgrounds, not just law.
Be clear that LLC is NOT a Law Firm – they are a consultancy firm that offers management solutions to law firms.
However, the Mumbai office also includes an offshoot company name Human Elevation, an Executive Search Firm.
Interning in the Mumbai Office will entail work from both Legal League Consulting and Human Elevation.
As a result, I was working under two bosses, one being Ms. Samta Thapa, a Senior Consultant at LLC, and Ms. Divya Vikra, a Principal Consultant at Human Elevation.
This difference in work also ensured that my time there did not become monotonous, and I had a constant flow of work and a lot of support from the others working there.
I was encouraged to write an article on a topic of my choosing and Ms. Thapa took the time to explain the nuances of the topic so that I could really understand it instead of just mining through Google for answers.
I chose LLC specifically because I wanted to do a Business related internship without deviating from the Legal Sphere, which is exactly what I got.
They do a lot of Consultancy and recruitment services to several Top Law Firms in the country, so I was able to understand life in a law firm from a very different perspective. I also got the chance to hone several soft skills that most law students don’t think about.
Overall, I had a great experience with LLC. I had the chance to understand the managing aspect of Law Firms as well as what to keep in mind when I myself will be looking for employment in one while having fun at the same time.
I would definitely recommend that law students who are not sure as to whether they want to do law after graduation to intern with LLC as they offer a great career alternative!
