I had mailed my Resume at kpsadvocates[at]gmail.com. Thereafter, I had received an E-Mail scheduling my interview. I was interviewed by Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) who is the Managing Founder of KPS Advocates.
It was really general and Sir asked me about my prior internships. Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) was gracious enough to give me an opportunity to Part Time intern during the months I had College. So, I used to wind up my lectures and report at the office at 2-3 p.m. and continue with the work I was assigned.
First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
7th Jaunary 2019 was my first day. Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) had an introductory session with the interns. It was more of a warm up session to tell the interns what work was expected out of them. Shayon Sir, then briefed us about the rules that we had to follow during the course of our internship.
I was assigned various tasks:
Making summaries of the cases and briefing.
Researching Case laws that are helpful for the cases I was working on, also, researching on any other proposition that was specifically assigned to me.
I was also graciously given an opportunity to observe Client Meetings as well.
Court visits included, visits in Gurugram District Court, Tis Hazari, Saket Court, Patiala House, Dwarka Court, Delhi High Court, SCDRC-Delhi, NCDRC, CAT-Delhi, Debt Recovery Tribunal Delhi.
Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) is really gracious, humble and polite. He is the managing founder of KPS Advocates and is usually extremely busy with work but he still took out time to interact with interns and guide them.
He made sure every query of the intern was answered and carefully scrutinized drafts made by us. It is an honour to have such a seraphic mentor.
He was also gracious enough to give me an opportunity to Part time Intern during months I had College. The environment of the office is rapturous and keeps one motivated to work.
Shayon Sir gladly guided each and every intern and made sure that all our doubts and queries were sorted. Kuldeep Sir readily helped in every clerical work and also guided through the filling procedure in Courts.
I was given the opportunity to work on a variety of cases like, service matters, dowry, divorce and maintenance matters, cheque bounce cases, criminal matters, matters pertaining to SARFAESI Act, Matters pertaining to Partnership and liability.
The wide and diverse cases helped me learn various statutes and procedures. Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) made sure there were weekly treats for interns and that everybody had their tummies full.
I really can’t find any bad thing there. Yes, diet-conscious people may not like the burger treats. But for us, it was a blessing in disguise.
Rs. 3000/- month
The office is in Orchid Islands, Sector 51, Gurugram. I reside nearby so Uber Auto was a boon for me. For people travelling from Delhi, the nearest metro is Huda City Centre and there are PG’s available in nearby locations also.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. Being a first-generation to be a lawyer I was always nervous about the competition, but Mr. Kunwar Singh (Sir) is a live example that hard work speaks for itself.
Sir, made sure every intern was motivated and worked to the full of his/her potential. It was a really great opportunity to work under his mentorship.
