Duration of internship and timings
1st Jan 2016 to 31st Jan, 2016
Timing
Mon-Fri 9.30 am- 5.30 pm (however u can be called on Saturdays as well, it all depends)
First impression
The office is located in lajpat nagar.
I was asked to provide certain documents (College ID, ID proof, photo) and was asked to sign an attendance register everyday.
I meet the Patners and the Associates.
AÂ internship worksheet was given to us to record our daily work.
Main tasks
I was given tasks mostly under corporate law including private equity, due diligence, and labour laws.
I was asked to prepare briefs and few agreements as well. Certainly this work is very different from our usual law college syllabus hence one learns new things ( which is good i think!).
Work environment
People here are very friendly and easy to approach for any query and clarification.
We were 6 interns & 2 associates in the beginning (and the no. kept changing till we left).
One of the Associate (Kunal) was the one who use to allot work initially however later Nidhi Ma’am (Partner) handled us all.
The area was just sufficient to accommodate all of us.
I carried lunch from home and so my lunch breaks never lasted more than half an hour.
There are plenty of places to eat lunch from lajpat nagar market (walk able distance from the office).
Best things
That was my first internship ever and I felt miserable on the last day of my internship (I didn’t want it to end).
The best thing over there is definitely that the associates in the office were willing to clear your doubts and help you.
One of the intern along with me from my university itself was Ashutosh Gambhir, who helped me a lot during my private equity assignment.
Bad things
There is no as such any bad thing, however you have to ask work every-time and since this is a firm involved in corporate law essentially so not much work of other sectors is available.
Stipend
Nil
Biggest Lessons
Ask for work, don’t sit idle.
Internship is more about learning on our own so do your work sincerely.
