Intern Details

Name of Organisation, Location, Team Strength

Uttar Pradesh Human Righs Commission, Lucknow.

Application Process

Uttar Pradesh Human Rights Commission every year offers internships and the same can be accessed through their website.

The application procedure is neat and interns are chosen for criteria’s pre-determined in their advertisement.

A letter of Intent, A statement highlighting Detailed Experience (practical), any other contribution made towards society & C.V are necessary requisites before you apply.

You may send your C.V to [email protected]

If you clear the initial screening process, then you may get an interview call (depending on the process), I got one.

The interview is nothing complex, a simple discussion & talk the concerned person.

Duration of internship and timings

I interned for a period of 4 weeks.

First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure

On the first day I thought would be a great day that I will get to work, but I was not, only topic “Violation of child right at school” was assigned.

Main tasks

My main task revolved around a research project on “violation of child right at school” which in the end I successfully submitted to the Commission.

Office timings 10:30 to 5:30 evening, although attendance was not compulsory. But there was one unusual thing which I learnt, how the PR functions in public offices.

Work environment and people

Environment was a bit boring and there was not too much to learn.

Best things

This intership serves best for people who are in their first year and want to add a government Internship in their C.V’s.

Bad things

Not much to learn.

Biggest Lessons

You can’t learn without doing anything.
