The total number of partners are 7, though you don’t get to meet them, but you are assigned work by the associates working under them.
Duration of internship
20th May, 2013- 18th June, 2013
Application procedure? Internship Contact Details
I applied by sending my CV to the HR department. Often they reply you the same day or next day whatsoever the case is. It is not sure that they always accept and provide you internship. Depends on the work pressure and also the present interns working.
You can mail your CV on the following ID: firstname.lastname@example.org
Duration in weeks. Days of work per week. Timings.
The number of working days per week is one of the best thing Dua associates has which attracts the most of the interns. It doesn’t pressurise you to work, you are bound to come for just 5 days a week and the timings are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
First impression, first day, formalities
So, as it was my first day I planned to reach the office a bit before the scheduled time( 8:25 am).
When I first entered the building I was guided by one of the security official as to which side is the reception, was made to wait for about 30 mins till the other interns come and finally I was made to enter the interns section i.e the Library.
There were no formalities. Every official person is quite chilled and specially everyone greets you very nicely.
Even the guard salutes you and wishes you “Good Morning Sir”.
As I was just a 2nd year passed intern, my main tasks included basically the research work i.e researching various case laws on different topics like Indian Contract Act,1872 Indian Trademarks Act,1999, Indian Penal Code, 1860, preparing a brief on a specific topic.
No doubt I also prepared a distributors agreement. Was also made to do clerical work, like typing the documents, proof reading etc.
Work environment, people
Frankly speaking 95% of the associates in this firm are friendly and very helpful (24×7 available). They don’t let the work pressure affect their behaviour towards interns working under them.
This attitude is very important for the increase in the productivity of the fellow employees and interns.
Also the library in-charge was very helpful.
The best things AND the bad things
BEST THINGS: Working days per week(5 days) is a type of attraction for the interns, office is centrally located; you don’t have to search it here and there.
The very much friendly and helpful nature of each and every person in the firm makes you motivated to work more; so due to this reason interns don’t get frustrated or tired and they don’t mind even working after the scheduled time i.e 6:00 pm, you get amazing and unlimited Cafe Coffee Day (coffee, tea), lemon tea, green tea, fully air conditioned office, Rajiv chownk metro station just 5-7 minutes away etc.
BAD THINGS: The main drawback of this firm was that even during the off season, like when the courts are not functioning they take up 15-18 interns which makes the environment a bit boring as there is less work pressure, no doubt there is a separate office for the interns but there are only 3 Computers.
So its difficult for the interns to do research which is to be submitted in 1-2 hours.
No wifi available in the office So, the interns get their own internet connection with laptops.
But over all the got to learn a lot and was altogether an amazing experience.
Accommodation etc. What did you to do chill in and around the office and the place of stay?
I have my own house in Delhi, so accommodation was not a problem for me.
But then also you can look for PG’s near Vishwavidyalaya, Laxmi Nagar or if you like to travel Greater Kailash-1 is also a good option.
As far as travelling is concerned, you have to travel by metro and Rajiv Chownk metro station is the nearest one, just 5-7 Kms walk from the metro station to the office.
There are various joints nearby where you can chill, like Kake da Dhaba, Cafe coffee day, Costa Coffee, McDonals, Fresco and also there are various fast food stalls beside the building where you can get cheap food.
