First day formalities
The DLSA office is located in the Haridwar District Court Campus. I was asked to report the office at sharp 9:30 am so that I can complete the formalities. The office operates in the ADR Center which has a decent infrastructure.
I met the Secretary of DLSA Haridwar Mrs. Shivani Pasbola, Civil Judge (S.D.), who gave me an introduction of the functions that the DLSA performs, work of ADR Center, Lok Adalats and Court-annexed Mediation, etc.
All the associates and staffs were very friendly. You can easily interact with each of them. Not only the office associates even the Secretary of DLSA, Mrs. Shivani Pasbola, Civil Judge (S.D.), made us feel so comfortable during our intern and she was very kind and amicable to us.
Office hours are between 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. But you can leave early at times when you go for the field visit.
The best thing was that we had a great work environment and helpful associates. They used to teach us so much when we go for the field visit.
Unlike other Internships where interns will be put into pressure and associates allot most of their work to the interns, we did not have any such drawbacks. The associates as well as Ma’am were always there to guide you.
Every day I used to get a new experience. so, the work was never boring since I had many field visits and also I could learn a lot about Lok-Adalat, Mediation Proceedings, Pre-litigation Proceedings.
I had a great experience after attending the different courts, conversing with Senior Civil judge.
Interaction with parties during the mediation and visiting on various sites such as Children Home, Observation Home, Special Home.
I put all my efforts during the internship. I got to know the various concepts, rules, law through this internship. it will be beneficial for me in the coming tomorrow. It will also helpful for my further studies too.
Internship at DLSA gave me a wonderful opportunity and a great exposure to practically learn the legal knowledge. We’ve visited many places like District & Sub-Jail, Juvenile Justice Board, , Lok-Adalat Proceedings including pre-litigation, mediation, Legal Awareness Camps organised by DLSA etc.
We had a very new experience in all respective places and gathered numerous pieces of information.
Since practical experiences are the best and this Internship gave that hands-on experience which I really need on. I sincerely thank My College and DLSA, Haridwar for providing such a wonderful and valuable intern.
A different experience, basic and practical knowledge is more valuable than a stipend, which I had earned.
As I’m from Haridwar I didn’t have many complications about the stay. But you can find lots of rooms around the office.
