On the first day, we were asked to assemble at the DLSA office located in Patiala House Courts, New Delhi. After sometime, the gathering was addressed by the Member Secretary and the Officer on Special Duty.
They told us about the legal background of the organization and also told us about the objectives of the organization. We were divided into groups of 6-7 people.
It was, essentially, a month of being introduced to the government bodies that operate from the grassroots’ level right to the top.
We were asked to keep record of the things at different offices as we were supposed to make the Internship Report at the end of the internship.
The thing I liked the most was the trip to the Supreme Court.
It was an out of the world experience to go into courtroom no. 2 and witness the proceedings.
My group mates and I used to chill at quite a few places like C.P., Khan market, Hauz Khas etc after wrapping up the work for the day.
I was expecting to be in a challenging atmosphere where I would be able to learn new things related to the legal arena.
However, in that regard, the internship was disappointing as the attitude was very laid back.
This internship taught me how to reach the courts, but didn’t really teach me how to file a suit once I reach.
