First day, First Impression

On the first day I reported to Adv. Esha Mazumdar. She is also a partner in the firm and handles most of the work in the firm. Mam introduced me to Sir and other associates who were very helpful throughout my internship and guided me when any problem arose. Mam took the introduction and assigned the main work to be done.

Main Tasks

During the internship, I worked on different cases as there land acquisition matters, civil matters and matters related to government officers. I visited mostly High Court, district courts and Central Administrative Tribunal. While attending High court proceedings, I also got the chance to hear prominent lawyers in our country which is very important if you choose litigation after college.

Esha mam assigned me different cases on which I was need to make case briefs and to relevant research for making the case stronger. This internship really helped me in improving my legal research skills and to make proper case briefs as there are the integral part of litigation.

I also learned how to file cases and application in High court and the necessary documentation related to it. Mam also asked me to draft arguments in cases and to do necessary research on it.

Work environment and people

The other associates and the staff of the firm were very good and helpful. If any mistake was done by me they used to guide me and were very polite. Esha Mam and Sir were very supportive throughout the internship and were always ready to clear any doubts which arose during the internship.

Best Things

The best thing during the internship was that the associates were very supportive and I got to learn so much from them during the internship. The interns used to reach office first and then go courts with the associates and gained lot of experience in the law firm. For me, it was a knowledge gaining experience.

Bad things

No bad things, only the interns will be enriching their experience in the law firm.

Biggest lessons

Showing that you are passionate about the work, it will make a lasting impression that could benefit you in the future, when it comes to asking for a reference.  Worker harder to achieve success in future.
