One of the Founding Partner is known to me, so I was spared from procedural formalities.
Duration of internship and timings
I worked for 4 weeks from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
First impression, first day formalities, infrastructure
On the very first day I was introduced to other team members, and were told about firm’s main task.
Office is situated at heart of the city and is well spacious.
Firm mainly deals with taxation matters and legal advise regarding it.
Hence, my main task was to sit during client counselling and take notes.
On the other hand, I was allowed to do research on ongoing cases also.
Work environment and people
Work environment was quite well and each member of the team helped me in one way or other.
Best thing was Mr. D.K. Gupta’s guidance, he has served in HP Taxation department for years and hence his experience and knowledge is something to be counted for.
Bad thing was firm only deals with tax matters, which eventually seems like endless monotonous work.
Biggest lesson to be learnt is that even if you don’t like your work (in my case-tax matters) but have good team members to guide you time and again even then you can enjoy your work.
