Xiaomi is a leading electronics brand in India for the past 5 years. The internship program is very fruitful and effective for all interns. It will help you learn how the company in-house teams actually work.
An application needs to be made to the person who handles the internship program in the legal team. She will forward your CV to the HR. Then a telephonic interview will be conducted by the legal team. Usually, not more than 2 people are short-listed in a month. First Day Formalities Initial Impressions
The first day will be an induction program about Chinese culture and traditions. Then you will be introduced to your respective teams. Everyone in the team is pretty young. Initially, I was very circumspect and cautious. But everyone seemed so nice and chilled out. There weren’t too many problems with bonding with them.
My tasks were research on different aspects of the law. It started with a trademark search, then research on cases of competition law and arbitration. They won’t give you too much contract drafting in one month. Only vetting of a few contracts.
They help you improve your research skills by showing you different techniques and styles of efficient and quick research. I learnt new ways of conducting a class search in trademarks. They provide breakfast and lunch on the house every day which is a real bonus.
Nothing as such.
I stayed in a PG in Koramangala which is around 11 km away from the office, but the office provides a shuttle service to everyone so wasn’t much of an issue.
