3 Weeks (Monday – Saturday)
9:30 am – 7:00 pm
First impression, First Day Formalities
The office is calm and comfortable. The formalities are we should reach the office at that time. The office timings are 9: 30 AM to 7:00 PM and should strictly adhere to the black and white dress code. On the first day, interns should sign NDA and other documents requiring them to adhere to official rules.
My first day at the office has assured me of a great experience. Ashok Ram Kumar sir is famous in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for his litigation in IP, he is extremely skilled at dealing with complicated cases. I was really nervous to inform him that I had no prior knowledge in IPR.
He smiled and gave me a book on IPR fundamentals as a task for the first four days. He was very approachable and helped me gain clarity on many concepts.
Main tasks include researching and drafting. Interns are to analyse the case at hand, search for relevant sections, supportive judgements and submit a note regarding the same. Further interns are also expected to research on a specific topic and prepare presentations.
Interns also, get an opportunity to observe court proceedings, client meetings, learn patent valuation and indulge in drafting trademark applications. One can always approach the attorneys if they are keen on learning a specific task related to IP and are readily taught.
Work environment, people
People at the firm are very approachable. One could go back to Ashok Ram Kumar sir in case of any doubts, he used to provide a lot of clarity in complex cases and give us leads for further research. He is a good teacher and deals with the interns with patience. Working under him is truly an enriching experience.
Further, Sheela Ram Kumar madam used to constantly review the work of interns. She used to provide us with constructive feedback and help us to finish the task with perfection. The firm had other friendly interns who were supportive and made working more fun. To sum up, an intern can walk away with abundant knowledge in IP and IT law.
Quality research work.
Exposure to court proceedings.
Constructive feedback on the work.
Opportunity to engage and learn regarding various IPR services.
Expert mentors who guide aptly.
There are no bad things as such except that one should be willing to work hard.
The office is located in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. It is a ten-minute walk from Peddama Temple metro station. One can find decent PGs in Madhapur and Hitech City (a ten-minute journey through metro).

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
