First Day Formalities Initial Impressions

On the first day of my internship, I reached Dwarka Court at 9:45 am, where I met with the other interns, from them I got to know about the list of the cases which were listed for the day and check the serial no of matter from the cause list. I was told to go the courtroom with sir and observe the Court proceedings.

In the lunch break, Sir introduced me with all of the associates and interns in an informal way, where all persons use to eat lunch collectively it was more of a warm-up session to tell the interns what work was expected out of them and making them aware about the rules of a courtroom. The chamber is well built and air-conditioned but is always busy with the clients coming in at all times.

Main Tasks

  1. Read all the case files listed for the day and Making summaries of the cases and after the court timings, discuss them with sir for better understanding.
  2. Researching Case laws related to the cases I was working on and find relevant judgements.
  3. I was also provided with the opportunity to observe Client Meetings and to witness the procedure of recording of evidence/statement of vulnerable witnesses.
  4. Several Court visits to High Court, Tis Hazari court, Dwarka court, Patiala court, Saket court, Rohini court, Karkardoma court and Lok Adalat.
  5. Drafting of plaints and Legal notice’s.

Good Things

One of the best parts of my Internship was when Sir and I go to attend a court proceeding and Sir provide me lots of practical information on IPC, CRPC and Pocso while travelling to proceeding in their car. Sir used to have general discussions related to the interest’s of the intern that in which fields he wanted to pursue his practice after attaining his degree like in Corporate, Litigation Govt Agency, Judicial Exams etc.

I also got to know about the various problems of common people, which are not discussed much in day to day life and learnt how life is painfull for them who are falsely implicated in wrong cases.

Prince Sir is of very helpful nature he ensures that every intern is cleared with all of the doubts and queries. Zakir Sir taugh me every clerical work and also guided through the filling procedure in District Courts and High Court.

I was provided with the opportunity to work on a variety of cases like Pocso, dowry, divorce/maintenance matters, cheque bounce cases, criminal matters, matters pertaining to SARFAESI Act, Matters pertaining to Partnership and liability, NDPS.

Bad Things

There’s was no bad things as such but the commute time of 1.5Hr on each side consumes my lot of time.

Stipend

No stipend was provided.

Accommodation Commute

It took me 1.5 hours from Noida city centre to Dwarka Sector 10 from Metro, from station Court is on walking distance of 2 Minutes.

Other Info

Sometimes you also Get the Golden opportunity to talk with the judge of District Court when the court gets empty and share your views and knowledge about the law with a judge and get to know their hard work for becoming a judge.

Different methods/techniques of arguing a matter in the district court and high court, are way too different, this was the crucial thing which was to be learnt by every intern.
