Duration of the internship
3rd February 2020 to 2nd March 2020
How did you apply?
I had applied for the internship at Sync Legal by forwarding my application for an internship along with my CV at 28th of January and I received the confirmation for an internship within a week from the date of application through a telephonic interview.
First-day formalities, infrastructure, first impression
On my first day, I was introduced to the Managing Partner of the firm namely Mr. Prakhar Dixit. There were no such formalities in the firm, but Mr. Prakhar Dixit made it ample clear that an intern should always reach the office by 10.00 AM.
The office space includes a room for the Partner where the Associates and interns also sit and a conference room. There are multiple shelves full of books which were extremely useful over the course of my Internship.
Work at Sync Legal comprised of drafting which included drafting of applications, petitions, affidavits and articles, court visits and research.
The best thing about this firm was that unlike in any other firm, interns get to lay their hands on drafting apart from having access to Court files for the purpose of studying a particular case. Another good thing about this firm is that the interns get an opportunity to interact with Mr. Prakhar Dixit directly. Mr. Prakhar Dixit also involves interns during client meetings so that interns can get first-hand exposure of a case and can learn the art of conversing with clients.
Interns at Sync Legal are being assigned clerical work very often. Although interns everywhere are being assigned clerical works and are expected to perform menial tasks to a certain extent, the same was disappointing and demoralizing sometimes.
No stipend was paid to me for the internship at Sync Legal.
Accommodation, commuting to the office
I stayed at a paying guest accommodation located at Malviya Nagar. I used to commute to the office through the metro. The nearest metro station to the office is Rajiv Chowk and Shiva Ji Station of Airport Metro.
Anything else, what you did to chill out, lessons learnt etc.
In overall, an internship at Sync Legal was an enriching experience where I improved my drafting skills a lot.
Whenever we used to get an opportunity to have our lunch together, we used to pick up a topic to discuss and deliberate with the entire team of Sync Legal.
After office hours I used to hang out in Connaught Place which boasts of some of the nicest restaurants and cafes in Delhi.
The biggest lessons which I have learnt from this internship is that one cannot sit idle at the firm and get to enhance knowledge regarding news updates or different informative topics. I also learnt to sit and work for hours which will ultimately prepare me for my future applications where I will be required to dedicate more hours towards work.

I am an army girl! In a barbie world! Keeper of 5 dogs. On a diet for now. Sometimes I might make punctuation mistakes, but I make up for it by bringing in a crore or two extra. What's more important, a misplaced comma, or a well-placed crore?
