I applied by sending a mail to internship[at]regsla.com along with my CV and cover letter. I got reply within a few days. They sent me a Form along with a Technical questionnaire which I had to complete within a preset deadline
First-day Formalities, Infrastructure and First Impression
As I interned online, on the day of joining, interns were briefed by an associate over Zoom call. We were assigned an Email ID wherein work-related communication used to take place.
A few days later we had a group video conference with Sumit Sir and it was a pleasant experience talking to him. He asked us about our college, and allotted tasks himself, explaining the key details and deadline.
As I’m interested in working in the field of securities law, I was looking forward to work on research tasks pertaining to the same.
Main Tasks
The work required considerable research and the Firm actually relied on the work done by us. Over the course of my internship, I was allotted several tasks, all of which were interesting. At first, I doubted if the virtual experience would be fruitful but thankfully it was fulfilling and informative.
The deadlines were accommodative and associates were always ready to solve any query at hand.
On the last day, I received a personal mail from Sumit Sir wherein he gave detailed feedback about my performance and listed down areas where I need to work on.
Having interned at several Law Firms in the past, I never witnessed any Partners take out time from their schedule to give individualised feedback. I think this instance alone can tell the personal attention paid to every intern which makes you feel you are a part of the firm.
Bad Things
None
Stipend
Though I haven’t received my stipend and certificate yet. Interns generally get a decent stipend along with a certificate within a few days of completing the internship.
Suggestions
I suggest anyone interested in Securities Law, Insurance Law to consider interning at RegStreet Law Advisors. Make sure you work diligently and complete the tasks well within the deadline. It was undoubtedly the best internship experience of mine till date.
